In Exodus 33, Moses asks to see God, who replies and says that no one can see His face and live. Exodus 33 v20 "But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” Although, earlier in the chapter, we read Exodus 33 v 11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.
