This new series will look at where Jesus can be found in the Old Testament. This might be a strange thing to say, as Jesus was not born until 1st Century AD. However, He does appear in different literary and literal ways. He is mentioned in prophetic verses. There are over 300 Old Testament prophetic verses in the Old Testament which were fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ.
Jesus needed to fulfill the old testament prophecies to prove who HE was …. many Jews refused to believe, thus they lost their privilege as the chosen people Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: `The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it." When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them. But when they tried to arrest him, they feared the multitudes, because they held him to be a prophet. MATTHEW 42-46

Regarding "...one who will be ruler over Israel..."
As with the meaning of the words for 'girl' and 'virgin' what is the meaning of 'ruler'? Considering that Jesus said explicitly that his kingdom is not of this world?
